Here's a head sculpt I made of Smaug from The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.
I used this guy as a good way to study reptilian scales and hard organic surfaces.
Took me over 2 weeks and a lot of research from the BTS of Hobbit 2 to get as much reference from Smaug as possible.
Overall, I had a lot of fun sculpting him and doing all the research to get him as close to the movie as possible.
All the renders were made inside ZBrush and edited in Adobe After Effects.
