This is a fun little private project I've been working on for the past 2 weeks to study a creature that is almost completely covered in scales on its body.
In this case I thought a monitor lizard would be the perfect creature for this.
However, I didn't just want to copy a komodo dragon one to one so I decided to take the prehistoric giant version of it, Megalania.
Had a blast designing this guy through a lot of research on other monitor lizards in order to create its unique skin pattern.
Overall, a great and fun way to practice scaly surfaces on a creature while also speculating how this extinct animal could've looked like.
